6’2, 185-pound RHP shows intriguing arm-speed and frame projection. Tall, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, long arms, super projectable. Has just begun to realize his frame potential. Pitches from a stretch only into H ¾ release. Quick arm. Glove side appears to be along for the ride. Some head violence after release. Straight FB shows occasional short cut. Tight, short downer CB flashes late bite, swing and miss capability. Firm CH w/ arm-speed, flashes short fade and sink. Strike-thrower with the FB (10 of 12), around the zone w/ his secondary pitches. Tools to command.
7/3/18 - Max FB: 78, FB: 76-78, CB: 60-65
5-foot-11, 153-pound, RHP showed intriguing velocity for a young pitcher. Medium, athletic frame w/ high waist, well-proportioned lean strength. Super lean, super projectable. Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber. Quick, loose arm. Glove side is just along for the ride, has a tendency to pull him down instead of helping with his direction to the corner he is throwing to. Learning how to get lower half consistently involved. Straight FB shows occasional short cut. Medium downer CB w/ proper shape, rotation. Around the zone w/ his 2-pitch mix. Throws strikes with the FB, developing feel to stay down and out of the middle of the plate (17 of 24 for strikes). Generated 4 swing and misses on 15 swings, including 4 of 11 on the FB.
7/3/18 - Home-1st: 5.06, Position Velocity: OF-69, Exit Velocity: 79
5-foot-11, 153-pound, RHH showed intriguing arm strength on the mound, better than what he tested in the OF at. Medium, athletic frame w/ high waist, well-proportioned lean strength. Super lean, super projectable. Offensively, hits w/ an open, upright stance w/ short hand rhythm into leg kick and load where hands drop, creating length. As he learns to keep his hands high and maintain separation from his lower half, will create a better attack angle at the baseball. Flashed bat speed in BP, learning to get everything synced up in game consistently. Singles power right now, projectable pull power as frame continues to mature. Defensively, tracks well in the OF w/ projectable carry to target arm strength.
