Kellerman is a 5-foot-9 155-pound catcher. Small frame with slight looking shoulders. Ran a 7.97 60, had an Exit Velo of 80. Offensively, has the frame work of a talented baseball player. Narrow stance, swing is started by a small leg lift from the right side. Small, but smooth hand load. Lands very heavy on front foot, drifts in his swing. Finish is athletic. Still growing. Needs to get stronger.
Defensively - showed to be one of the better all around defensive catchers at the event. Strong receiving skills backed up by an unrelenting motor make him fun to watch on the baseball field. Throws the ball extremely well out of the crouch, up to 75 with some carry. Lowest recorded pop time on skills day was 1.97, but was primarily a 2.10. Fundamentals are there, just needs to continue to get stronger. Interesting prospect to look for in a year or two.
