Physical: 6-foot-1, 169 pounds; long, lean build. 8.03 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Neutral feet with knees pointed inward, high hands and a 45 degree bat angle; small weight shift back into a jump forward, his hands stop moving on leg lift. Average effort from lower half, stands out of back leg load but rotates hips well with down and out of the zone pretty quickly, hits well when he can get foot down and hit out in front. Hit a lot of pop ups to the opposite field, but was able to turn on some inside pitches and hit lasers to the pull side; peak Trackman exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively: Tall, bent over set up with narrow feet; moves feet well to get around the right side of the ball, bends at the waist to field. Average hands with a clean transfer to throw; moderate take back out of the glove with a bent elbow, throws from a 3/4 slot. INF - 77 MPH. Pitching: Good tempo in delivery down the slope, chest works out of in front of the front leg at times. Similar arm action from across the diamond, appears to hide the ball well to hitters. FB: T 78 MPH, 74-77 MPH. Threw well to the glove side, consistently painting the corner. CB: 67 MPH. Curveball has good, sharp break to it; thrown well with same arm speed. CH: 69-72 MPH. Showcased a good changeup that he kept in the zone with confidence, could be a valuable pitch in the arsenal in his future.
2/29/20
Physical: 6-foot-0, 166-pounds. Long frame with room to fill out. 8.33 runner in the 60; 5.09 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Athletic stance with his feet just wider than shoulder width apart, high hands that work back on load along with a toe tap for timing Swing can get just a bit loopy, works on an uphill plane just before contact and finishes high. Consistent middle contact. 75 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Starts with his glove foot forward, charges the ball well, gets low with the ball and works well from the ground up, fields the ball in the middle of his body and funnels it into his stomach. Medium arm swing with a 3/4 arm slot. INF - 77 MPH. Pitching: Compact, repeatable delivery with a leg lift just above the belt and slight coil before striding in line, gets extension through release to a balanced follow through. Moderate arm swing getting up quick to a clean 3/4 release. FB: T75, 73-75 MPH. Flashes arm side run. CB: 62-64 MPH. 10-4 slurve action showing depth. CH: 66-68 MPH. Good sell with arm side sink.
