Dawson is a solid, athletic prospect with wide shoulders. He projects as a first baseman at the next level. In the field, he has a tendency to field the ball deep. He uses a low 3/4 arm slot with a hitch to reach a top velocity of 66 mph across the infield. At the plate, he shows a smooth, quick load and a short, uphill bat path. He shows middle of the lineup pull power.
