Notes

Comments

6/7/16
5-foot-11, 170-pound athletic frame. The thing that stands out about Schrand other than an upper-80s to 90 mph fastball is his demeanor on the mound. Jack has obvious confidence in his ability on the mound with the competitiveness to go right at hitters. Has looseness to his arm while working through a high-¾ slot with obvious armspeed. His offspeed will need to continue to develop.

6/8/15
5-foot-11, 162-pound thin, projectable body frame with room to fill out with. On the mound he uses good rhythm and tempo in a controlled delivery that doesn’t require much effort. Simple, repeatable mechanics with a straight up and down leg kick and minimal hip load. He lands in a straight line, even at foot strike. He finishes with his right leg high, with a double take to it and his momentum is carried in a straight line finishing towards home plate. He throws using quick arm speed through a ¾ slot. His fastball was between 84-87 mph with arm-side run at times. He has a good curveball with sharp break at 69-70 mph with 11/5 tilt. He threw a changeup using fastball arm speed at 76-78 mph.
