Notes

Comments

2/14/19
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 170-pound very athletic frame.

Swing Mechanics: Right-handed swinger with a smooth back load during his move out with lower half.

Hit: Hit tool has improved since we saw him last, large part to due with his new found physicality. Looked like a different guy, adding 15-20 pounds of good weight. Level path with the ability to use both sides of the field. Obvious athleticism in the box.

Power: 94 mph exit velocity. Present gap abilities.

Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles, showing an impressive combination of athleticism and burst.

Run: 4.07 H-1st.

Field: Good athlete with a big arm. Looks the part out there.

Throw: 88 mph arm strength to home plate. Ball jumps out of hand with easy carry.

Defensive Projection: LF/CF.

Additional Comments: Stock up here. Lafayette got a good one. Much more physical prospect than we saw last summer with versatility to play multiple spots and be used in multiple roles in a lineup.

2/16/18

In the OF, Amendola displayed his strong, accurate arm recording an 87 mph throwing velocity. His footwork was above average moving swiftly getting around the ball quickly setting himself up for a strong throwing position. Aggressive playing style that can translate well into college. On the mound Amendola throws over the top with a fluid delivery. Excellent intent behind each throw. His fastball was 77-79 mph. Developing curveball was 62-65 mph. His Changeup was 68-69 mph with some downward tumble. Deceptive motion and great lower half use. In the outfield Amendola showed nice footwork and moves well. Gets himself around the ball and attacks it leading into throws. Showed well above average arm strength with an 87 mph throwing velocity. High ceiling for this athlete. At the plate he displayed a quick bat from the right side. Goes with a leg kick for timing as barrel maintains rhythm through load into launch utilizing a bat tip movement. Hands show twitch through the zone with strength at contact. Path is slightly downhill and he has some feel for the barrel. A top of the lineup type with enough juice to be a regular gap threat.

Outfield Velocity: 85

Exit Velocity: 86

6/21/17

A two-way prospect in the 2019 class. On the mound the southpaw has a fluid delivery that requires some effort. Flashed above average arm speed while working through a near over the top slot. Arm action is relatively clean. Fastball has some run to it, coming in the zone at 76-79 mph. Spins a 1/7 shaped breaking ball. The pitch has gradual break at 65-67 mph. Was consistently in the zone and got outs. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Creates a large amount of energy with his lower half through a leg kick and well timed weight transfer. Hands move with fluidity prior to launch. Path is downhill with above average bat speed. Swing plays best to the opposite field gap at this stage. A more level path would allow him to use the whole field more often. In the outfield he uses smooth footwork approaching the baseball. Plays through the baseball confidently. Does a nice job creating momentum into throws with his lower half. Showed impressive, 84 mph arm strength to home plate.

5-foot-8, 150-pound thin, athletic frame. The southpaw has a slower tempo to a delivery that requires regular effort. Tends to leak energy to the third base side. Has some looseness to his arm working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball was anywhere from 68-70 mph and is complimented by 58-61 mph, 1/7 shaped curveball with signs of sharpness. At the plate he gets excellent whip through the zone through the zone with above average batspeed. His slightly uphill path to the ball allowed him to drive the ball in the gap during batting practice. Cuts his hips off at times which made him more effective to the middle of the field. Reached a top exit velocity of 79 mph. In the outfield he does a nice job of playing through the baseball. Could get more out of his crow hop. Threw to home plate with 77 mph arm strength. Ran a 4.5 from home to first.
