Matthew Roncalli: C/3B, (2022) Saltillo, MS. 6-foot, 161-pound lean frame. During batting practice, Roncalli had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed was above average, displayed level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, recorded a pop time of 2.08-2.08, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 78 mph; had a quick exchange, next Level hands and athletic smooth footwork. Has quiet setup. Showed a quick arm action. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.38.
Matthew Roncalli: C/3B, (2022) Saltillo, MS. 6-foot, 150-pound projectable frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in a balanced stance with a wrapping load, then uses a small leg kick before his swing. Has a level swing plane, as well as quick bat speed and high finish. His throw downs to second were maxed at 71 mph; has a quick exchange, firm hands and athletic footwork. While catching, pop time was registered at 2.05-2.08. Had an-over-the-top slot and a compact arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. He clocked a time of 7.2 in the 60-yard dash.
