6-30-2018: 6-foot, 195 pound, strong bulky frame with little to no projection remaining. Similar body type to a young Jeff Bagwell. Offensively, he is a very polished hitter. Led his college team this past spring in batting average and hits; his team included Alec Bohm (3rd overall pick in 2018 draft) and Greyson Jenista (49th overall pick). Good bat speed and strong hands. Can hit to all field as well and will take pitches the other way. Bat stays in the zone and is a balanced hitter. Does not have a lot of pop but can turn on pitchers for pull side power. He struggles with being a zone hitter where he does not adjust his hands to pitches. This causes him to miss fastballs by several inches and struggle even more against the breaking ball. He is a pretty good athlete and is an average runner. Defensively, he does not have a good range but he makes up for it with his quick feet. Has an average-to-above average arm and runs good routes in the outfield. I see him sticking at either second base or a corner in the outfield. Most likely left field. Overall, Ritter is a good utility guy that does not have any loud tools. Was a 37th round pick this June by the Twins. (Joe Pera)
