Loose athletic RHP. Upper 80's velocity with ability to spin breaking ball for strikes. 2-way player in high school. Future is on mound. Committed to U. of Minnesota. Projectable body and arm action. Will see gains in velocity once in college.
7-20-2018: 6-foot-4, 220 pounds. Tall, athletic build. Long arm path, ¾ slot. Easy, loose delivery. Average arm speed. Throws three pitches – FB, CB, CH. FB sat 91-94, above-average velocity. Inconsistent command. CB is his best pitch. Big arc, 11/5 shape, 76-77 mph. CH sat on 80, average pitch as well. Threw sparingly. Above average velo and a plus CB are what make this upperclassman an intriguing prospect. He had average control, but has been hit around most of the year. Pitched two and one-third innings. Allowed two runs on four hits while walking and striking out two each. (Jake Stone)
3-5-2018 Junior RHP Jake Stevenson made the start on Sunday and came out with an easy 90-92 mph fastball in the first inning before settling into the 87-89 mph range by the third. There wasn’t much deception from his high slot, but he did it easy with a loose arm, clean delivery and good arm speed. (Seifert)
