4/10/18 Spring Scout Blog: The Purdue commit got the start on the bump on a very chilly evening. Pitches from high 3/4 slot. Threw 3 1/3 inning on his outing. Opened up 83-86 T87 in the 1st with command issues of FB and BB. Came out in the 2nd inning and command was much better with a tick in velocity as well as he worked in the 86-88 range. Flashed two different breaking balls during his outing. One true CB that was 67-70 with late hard bite at times. Also mixed in a SL that was 74-76 that had some sweeping action but was mostly flat through the zone for much of his outing. The Purdue recruit battled through command issues and cold weather. Should see more velocity and better command over the course of the spring out of him.

2017 Spring Scout Blog:  Uncommitted 2019 top-10 arm was locked in during an absolute pitchers duel in the first round of sectional play. Picked up a CG shutout allowing just 3 hits and striking out 12 to earn the W. Showed considerable composure in tight situations and was an emotional leader in the dugout. Fastball was 83-86 T87 in the first two innings with a 71-77 differential in the curveball/slider mix. Displayed much better command than the start of the year with all pitches. Did not utilize a changeup, but the development of one could pay dividends down the road.

6-foot-1 uncommitted sophomore saw a slight velocity jump in the two weeks since we last saw him. The athletic RHP's fastball sat 83-86 through seven innings of work touching 87 with arm side a couple of times. Fastball and breaking ball had more command. Still technically raw but recorded 15 Ks walking just one. Breaking ball will need to be developed and off speed did not play a major part on the evening. Long, loose, and lean could be one of the top pitchers in his class.
