2/2/14 - Already a well-known national prospect, Lillard no doubt helped his draft stock with his all-around performance at the Super 60. In fact, his showing was arguably the most impressive of the entire event. The Kansas State recruit has the prototypical size (6-feet-2, 190 pounds), athleticism (event-best 6.60 60), arm strength (91 mph across the infield), and hits from the left side (92 mph exit velocity). What’s not apparent in the raw data was his overall fielding ability. Lillard shows natural infield actions, he moves and throws with ease, his hands are soft and he plays through the ball well, fielding the ball in rhythm. Offensively, Lillard’s hands and bat path are excellent. And when he stays back on the ball and gets more lower half involvement, he should acquire more pop.
