3/18 – USC signee, 6-foot, 205-pound frame, maxed out, muscular frame throughout. Has crouched, spread out stance with a unique full uppercut, step in the bucket swing. Bat speed is off the charts and never gets cheated on any offering. Head does not always stay on the ball, but when he connects its violent, loud, and fun to watch. Hartsell has dangerous country boy power that gets full extension and loft. His ability to square up secondary pitches will determine his success at the next level. Displays sound defensive actions, average arm tool, and the ability to chase balls down in the gap. Hartsell is a better runner underway considering his huge swing. He showed a 4.15 to 1B beating out a ground ball at the end of a game. Fierce competitor that wants to win.
