2019 Santa Fe Christian shortstop and Washington State commit Bryson Hashimoto is listed at 6” 170 pounds and passes the eye test physically. Defensively shows good fundamentals and could line up anywhere in the infield. Stays low to the ground, constantly moving his feet and setting up to throw. Hands were quick and consistent throughout the game. Sets up wide in the box displaying good hip drive and shows ability for present and future power. Load shows some stiffness and the need to be perfectly timed to reach the ideal point of contact. Swing path is straight to the ball and level allowing for level contact. Results wise struggled with off-speed pitches and really struggled keeping his weight back against a young pitcher with low velocity and experience. Tools and ability are present to be a quality division 1 player but stiffness in the load and current swing and miss will be a cause for concern at the next level against strong PAC-12 pitching.
