PBR CA STATE GAMES - Athletic player with lean, strong build showing the frame to keep making leaps behind the plate and at the dish. Defensive skills were outstanding during the event with consistent high-quality effort showing lateral quickness matched up with a quick exchange and arm strength (2.06-2.19 Pop). At the dish works from a narrow stance with high back elbow and high hands; quick compact bat working upwards through the zone showing easy lift to the OF on his way to picking up a 2B into LCF. Very talented 2022 player who will keep improving because of his consistent effort and strength in tools.

IE Future Games Trials - Uncommitted. At 6-foot, 160-pounds, Pyle, a two-sport athlete (football), has the type of physical frame ideal for the catching position. Posted a 7.2 laser-timed 60 yard dash before heading into the hitting wheel where he registered a 74 mph exit velocity. His live BP round showed his compact, powerful approach to hitting. Shows present pull side power with the ability to use the middle of the field. Shows good feel for the barrel which he keeps on plane throughout the swing with fast, strong hands. Defensively he shows a quiet setup with the body. Hands are strong and soft. Sticks pitches, often beating them to the spot. Blocks well with inverted V legs and glove closing the gap. Moves well laterally while maintaining shoulders squared to pitcher.

SoCal Preseason All-State, -5-foot-11, 175-pounds, medium, athletic build with physical projection remaining. Batting from the right side, Pyle shows good present bat speed with very quick hands. Makes hard contact with a nice line drive approach. Could benefit from more consistent extension, as he sometimes cuts his swing off in his follow through. Very impressive bat for his age. Defensively he showed all the skills to be an above average catcher. Very agile and quick on his feet. Pop times ranged from 2.08-2.18. Showed arm strength which should continue to improve. Quiet, balanced setup with soft hands. Anticipates pitch location well often beating the ball to the spot. Pyle is a very impressive athlete with a lot of raw potential.

SoCal Preseason All-State Quick Hits - Pyle is a two-sport guy who carries over the football mentality to the baseball diamond where his defense tools behind the plate were some of the best we saw on the day. Shows a quiet and balanced setup with very soft hands that allow him to stick it easily. Shows a good understanding of what is needed to be a quality catcher and should slide in nicely onto the varsity next year at La Mirada.
