1.31.18 - Committed to New Mexico State from Howard JC
7/3/19:Peterson had a breakout year at NMSU this spring, hitting .400 and 1.279 OPS, including 20 HRs. A strong and thick 6-foot-2, 230- pound frame produces a ton of bat speed, with natural loft in his swing. Wide shoulders and a strong lower half generate the power. Biggest question mark is his defense, but the bat and power tools should overcome that. Currently hitting .316 with an OPS at 1.049, Peterson is providing a lot of punch in the middle of the Honker lineup. A slightly open stance, showed he could cover both sides of the plate and hunt a pitch to try to pull. Could prove to be a good senior sign this coming spring. (DeGagne)
