As we prepare for the upcoming 2015 high school season, we will be taking a preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

Team: Notre Dame
Fighting Irish
Mason Dixon
Head Coach: Patrick Marozzi
2014 Overall Record: 27-7 (lost in state finals)

Jordan Miller, RHP/C, Class of 2016 (#16 in WV Class of 2016)
Josh Baker, 1B/LHP, Class of 2016 (#14 in WV Class of 2016)
Chad Morrison, OF/IF/RHP, Class of 2015
Spencer Harlow, C/RHP, Class of 2015 (#25 in WV Class of 2015)
Alex Murray, OF, Class of 2015
Zach Siebel, C/IF, Class of 2016

key losses:
Chris Petrucci, SS/RHP, (1st Team All-State, Marietta College)
Kolby Abruzzino, OF, (Glenville State)
T.J. McKinsey, RHP, (1st Team All-State, Glenville State)
DJ Murphy, OF, (WV Wesleyan)
Anthony Belcastro, 2B/RHP (All-Tournament Team 2014 state finals)
Justin Goff, 3B/DH (WV Wesleyan - basketball)

The Irish came within an eyelash of a state title in 2014. They have made two consecutive runs to Charleston and have enough returning to make a 3rd consecutive trip realistic. Depth will be the biggest challenge in 2015 following the loss four starters now playing in college.

According to the Coach:
"We believe we can make another run at Charleston. With five returning starters, and a transfer who has started for two seasons, we feel that we have enough experience to have a great season. Obviously, in high school baseball, you will go where your pitchers take you. We return our #1 in Jordan Miller, who was a first team all state selection, as a sophomore. We will build our staff around him with returners (Chad Morrison, Spencer Harlow, and Josh Baker). We will need to develop depth behind those guys, and I have no doubt that we will have some new guys step up. We expect to compete for a 3rd straight Mason Dixon Conference Title, as well as our section, region, and have a goal of getting back to the state tournament."
