Player Spotlight: 2021 RHP Victor Lizarraga

Jack Shannon
SoCal Area Scout

SAN DIEGO, CA. - Victor Lizarraga, a sophomore RHP from Montgomery High School is quickly making a name for himself as one of the top underclass arms in San Diego county. Lizarraga took the mound in his second start of the season against #25 Coronado (PBR California Power Rankings) and commanded a quality Islanders lineup. Over six innings of work he scattered three hits, walked one, struck out five batters and allowed no runs en route to a combined 1-0 shutout victory. Offensively the Montgomery Aztecs had two hits in the game with the only RBI being a bloop single off the bat of Lizarraga to drive in the games only run. Clearly he is opening some eyes as PBR San Diego was not the only scout in attendance as a representative from the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol was there to see him as well. Based off his pure talent alone, it will be no surprise when colleges come calling and professional interest continues to build.
