Jordan Has Last Say in Game of Big Innings

Athens Drive 7       C.E. Jordan 10

Game Recap:
In a game of big innings, Jordan posted the final big blow to top Athens Drive 10-7. After two quiet innings, Jordan took a 4 run lead only to see it topped in the next half. Jordan would answer back in each of the next two innings, scoring 5 in the 5th to put the Jaguars away. In total, there were 4 lead changes as each team continued to compete.

In the third, Jordan would open with back to back singles from Ryan Hall and Jeriah Wilburn. The next two hitters walked and a double by Ben Miller pushed the lead to 2-0. A single by starting pitch Luke Hutchinson would push the lead to 3-0, followed by a sacrifice fly from Andrew Alderman scoring the 4th run of the inning.

Athens Drive would immediately answer with a single from Adam Stuart advancing Drew DiMeo, who reached via error, to second with no outs. Zach Hurand would single scoring DiMeo. With the bases loaded and 1 out, Frans Rodriguez Mora reached on an error, scoring two runs. The Jaguars would plate the tying run on a ground out from Jacob Mitchell and take the lead on Jordan's 3rd error of the inning.

Down 5-4, Jordan's Cameron Carrow doubled to score Hall, tying the game. Athens would again take a lead in the 5th, only scoring one after loading the bases with no outs.

Down 6-5 in the 5th, Jordan would push across 5 runs on 4 singles and a double. The big blow came from Miller again, doubleing to center field, scoring the 10th run.

Luke Hutchinson kept Athens Drive at bay for the first two innings. He totaled 4 innings, giving up 6 hits and 6 run, only 1 earned. In relief for Jordan, Davis Downey worked 2 scoreless innings for the win and Leo Gartner threw a scoreless 7th.
