Recruiting news from around the state

Mike Pudlo, a slick-fielding MIF from Carmel Catholic HS, has committed to Loras College in Iowa. Pudlo has anchored Carmel’s middle infield since his sophomore year.

Chris Razo, a freshman RHP at Heartland CC, has committed to Illinois State University. Razo was a four-year ace at Illinois Valley Central HS, where he helped the Grey Ghosts to a state championship as a freshman and a second-place finish as a junior. As a senior, Razo earned PBR second-team All-State honors after going 9-1 with a 0.71 ERA. In 59.1 innings he struck out 99.

Jordan Fortner, a 6-foot-4 3B/C from Mt. Zion HS, has committed to Rend Lake JC. Fortner is a versatile athlete who can play several positions adeptly.

Casey Rautenstrauch, a 6-foot-5 RHP, has transferred from Eastern Illinois University to John A. Logan JC. Rautenstrauch was a standout at Goreville HS.
