Scout Day: St. Louis Gamers - Outfield Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 18 at All-Star Performance in St. Louis, Missouri. Nearly sixty players participated in the 2022 to 2018 classes.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance. 

Players can now updated their profiles with a 
ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Here is a closer look at the outfielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Outfielders

Patrick Clohisy OF / LHP / Chaminade , MO / 2020

Clohisy is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran 4.26 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 98 mph. During hitting evaluations, Clohisy starts narrow and upright, quiet load, feel for the barrel, quick hands, level bat path, repeatable swing with minimal effort, hard contact to the middle of the field during round of batting practice. Defensively in the outfield, good actions, strong arm with carry, clean action from a positional velo of 88 mph, over the top release, accurate throws. 

Markel Dixon OF / RHP / McCleur North, MO / 2021

Dixon is a 5-foot-10, 150-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.28 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. At the plate, Dixon has a lean athletic frame that projects out, leg lift into load, in line stride, big aggressive swing with loose hands, quick bat with lift. In the outfield, good actions, clean effortless arm action, high three-quarter release, strong arm with carry, positional velo of 86 mph, fairly accurate throws. Dixon’s athleticism and smooth actions make him a prospect to keep an eye on as he develops.

Ryan Fortune RHP / OF / Kirkwood, MO / 2020

Fortune is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.33 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 88 mph. During batting practice, Fortune has a simple load, some rhythm with hands, in line stride, level bat path, controlled but aggressive swing, produced hard gap-to-gap contact during round. In the outfield, good actions, quick transfer to release, long clean arm action, strong arm with carry, three-quarter release, positional velo of 86 mph, mostly accurate throws.

Joey Funk LHP / OF / Vianney, MO / 2022

Funk is a 6-foot, 155-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.45 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. During batting practice, Funk uses a simple knee pinch to load, quiet hands, controlled swing, maintains balance throughout, high finish with hands. In the outfield, Funk shows athleticism, aggressive to the baseball, momentum towards target, clean arm action, positional velo of 76 mph, fairly accurate throws.

Brayden Holder OF / RHP / Vianney, MO / 2021

Holder is 5-foot-11, 146-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.25 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. During hitting evaluations, reverse toe tap into load, in line stride, leverages up front side, big swing, produced good contact during round. In the outfield, Holder moves well, arm works, long clean arm action, three-quarter release, momentum towards target, positional velo of 79 mph, very accurate throws.

Kyle McConachie OF / SS / Columbia, IL / 2022

McConachie is a 5-foot-7 135-pound right-handed hitter in Illinois' 2022 class.  He ran a 4.60 home to first and has an 80 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, balanced set up, slightly open, no wasted movement in load, quiet hands, in line stride, swing produced mostly middle to pull side contact.  In the outfield, quick catch and throw, high three quarters arm slot, arm works, small crow hop to gain momentum through the catch, fluid actions, 80 mph positional velocity.

Kyle Mosley OF / LHP / Parkway Central, MO / 2022

Mosley is a 5-foot-11, 135-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.66 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 72 mph. During batting practice, leg lift into load, in line stride, loose hands, level bat path, minimal head movement, repeatable swing. In the outfield, Mosley is aggressive to the baseball, quick transfer to release, clean arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 74 mph, mostly accurate throws.

Hayden Sanborn RHP / OF / Vianney, MO / 2022

Sanborn is a 5-foot-10, 150-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.81 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. During batting practice, leg lift into load, in line stride, big swing with extension, some rhythm with hands, level bat path. In the outfield, fluid footwork, aggressive to the baseball, long clean arm action, three-quarter release, positional velo of 76 mph, mostly accurate throws.

Logan Schweigert C / SS / O Fallon Township High School, IL / 2020

Schweigert is a athletic 5-foot-9, 175-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.68 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 88 mph. During batting practice, Schweigert starts open, simple weight shift back to load, short and in line stride, loose hands, quick bat, level bat path, repeatable swing. In the outfield, Schweigert showed good actions, fluid footwork, clean arm action with an over the top release, positional velo of 82 mph, accurate throws with carry.

Gordon Walker RHP / OF / MICDS, MO / 2022

Walker is a slender and long limbed 6-foot, 145-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.86 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 82 mph. During batting practice, Walker uses a leg kick into his load, in line stride, leverages up his front side, produced contact to pull side during round. In the outfield, aggressive to the baseball, momentum towards target, long arm action, over the top release, positional velo of 74 mph, mostly accurate throws.
