The Prodigy Scout Day was held on Friday February 19th at the Prodigy indoor facility in Parkville MO. The event featured 40 talented players including some that make huge splashes at the event.
Leading the way in exit velo was 2022 Jeffery Cisneros (Liberty North). The 6-foot-3, 180-pound long limbed athlete shows consistent leverage and bat speed with even more room to add size and strength. Cisneros also showed the second highest infield velo at the event at 84 mph. Leading the way in infield velo was physically advanced 6-foot-4, 195-pound 2023 Austin Dahlberg (Oak Park HS) at 85 mph. Dahlberg also showed big leverage at the dish from the right-side and posted 90 mph exit velos and arm strength on the mound at 83 mph. Another Liberty North standout 2024 Nolan Whalley lead all outfielders in velo at 84 mph.
While the whole event was talented, the arms at the Prodigy Scout Day were really jaw dropping. 2022 RHP/SS Jake Daneff (Park Hill HS), a standout position player, shined brightest on the mound, sitting 88-89 in the strikes zone and touching 90 mph. Daneff also mixed a curveball, slider, and changeup for strikes. RHP/C Hayden Klein (Park Hill South) took a few pitches to get loose, but ended hit pen at 87-88 mph with some funk and deception in his delivery. Another Park Hill standout 2024 RHP Zane Baker impressed with an advanced 6-foot, 180-pound frame and fastballs up to 85 mph. Other freshman standouts include left-handers Wade Mann (Liberty North) , up to 83, and Lane Chapman (Lawson HS), up to 81, both with advanced breaking balls. Lean and athletic 2022s SS/RHP Vince Ray (Rockhurst HS) and Aidan Simpson (Park Hill South HS) were both up to 85 mph. 2023 RHP/3B Jared Henchek (St. Thomas Aquinas) had a strong all around day, tossing a bunch of strikes at 83 and going 90 off the tee before a strong round of BP.
