New Episode LIVE now! At The Yard Podcast

ISLANDERS FIELD (LATHROP), CA. - The inaugural Northern California Rising Stars Showcase had 35 players take part in as players were put through traditional workout that included the 60-yard sprint, a round of batting practice, defensive workouts at respective positions (multiple spots for a few players), and concluded with main diamond mound bullpen sessions where the pitchers' stats were compiled.

Note: All showcase videos have been added to player profiles. We will post reports by position as the week moves along (corner INFscatchersMIFs, 2023/2024 pitchers, 2025 pitchers). The players listed here are ordered by their max EV.

Medium width feet, slight crouch, relaxed high bat set-up, up in the box, small toe tap to smaller slightly closed stride, deep hand load w/lead arm bar.  Showed shorter stroke on balls middle in and a bit up, some length on pitches away, fly ball approach, high two hand finish, maintains balance through swing, raw tools are present for quite positive development; 15.1 max rotational acceleration (11.12 avg), 58% on plane efficiency, 70% fly balls.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 22.2 max hand speed (21.32 avg), 64.7 max bat speed.
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. OF - 81 mph. Ball exits hand well from overhand release, lacked carry due to sync between hands/feet, the OF and INF mph show there is developable raw arm strength.
Defense: Efficient approach in OF, sees it and reads it early, gets from catch to release quickly. Measured calm steps in INF, fields in closed position to 1st base, gloved balls cleanly.
