Central Coast Section, CA: Spring 2020 is here and as teams get ready for game action to start in the next two weeks, I've been working my lists for guys who could hear their name called in the MLB draft and another group of the Top Committed players in the Section. Whether you are a scout, recruiter, fan or parent here are two groups of players to keep an eye on during the 2020 Central Coast Section season.

10 MLB DRAFT FOLLOWs

Nick Yorke 2020 MIF Archbishop Mitty Arizona commit. Always finds barrels and shows knack for big moments. Speed/awareness/personality to fit anywhere on the field
Tommy Troy 2020 MIF Los Gatos Stanford commit. Natural speed for middle of the diamond and able to get to it regularly. Arm strength and some burgeoning pop as well.
Carson Yates 2020 OF Leland UCLA commit. Two-sport star with raw baseball skills. Will push double-plus run times and utillizes strength in frame. If he taps his power more consistently, watch out
Drew Dowd 2020 LHP Serra Stanford commit. Protoypical pitcher build and stuff that could make big jumps. Always had the stuff and if he's healthy could push to be one of the best in NorCal.
Eddie Park 2020 OF Valley Christian Stanford commit. Hit getter. Able to control the barrel for all fields. Plus speed gives him chance to stick in CF and keep improving.
Michael Mugan 2020 OF Monterey Santa Clara commit. Improved swing mechanics have unlocked more power and the arm strength/speed to fit in any OF spot. Big spring could see him make jumps
Rowan Trosky 2020 RHP Carmel Santa Clara commit. Frame to keep adding to low 90's FB and breaking ball actions will give him chance to make an impression.
Brendan Bobo 2020 3B/SS Harbor Fullerton commit. Physical LH bat with arm strength to stick on left side of the diamond. Tools are still raw but ready for jump.
Jon Jon Berring 2020 OF Palma Santa Clara commit. Plus speed and close to plus defender in CF. Power for frame is impressive and with speed easy steal threat
Joey Schott 2020 RHP St. Francis Baylor commit. Command of 3 pitches (FB/CHG/CB) and ability to pitch. Worked high 80's into the late summer and one more velocity jump could see him drawing eyes. 

20 Committed Players to Follow

Aidan Lee 2020 RHP/1B Monte Vista Christian USF commit. Power stuff on the mound (FB/SLD) that keeps improving. Chance to show off hit tool as well.
Mario DeMera 2020 3B/OF St. Ignatius USF commit. Bat skills are impressive and some chance for more power down the road. Arm/athleticism fit multiple positions
Owen Stevenson 2020 RHP Sacred Heart Cathedral USF commit. Frame has kept strengthening and showing better stuff on a regular basis. FB shows late life with chance to work into low 90's soon.
Luke Keaschall 2020 MIF Aptos USF commit. Hard-nosed field rat who does everything the right way. Defensive skills to stick at SS and bat-to-ball skills to find hits.
Jack Bollengier 2020 OF/MIF Aptos Sac State commit. Athlete who has kept making leaps. Played behind dish last year, but chance to roam around and use speed/LH swing atop lineup this season
Tyler Keenan 2020 OF Monte Vista Christian Sac State commit. Profile of a future RF with power arm/power bat and speed to track down balls.
Arthur Soto 2020 OF Archbishop Mitty CS Monterey commit. Arm strength and defense fit corner OF profile. Bat has made improvements with consistency being key.
Hayden Matulich 2020 INF/OF Pioneer Purdue-Northwest commit. Fits multiple spots on field with defense and reactions. Offensively shows patient approach and grinder mentality with XBH type of swing.
Ian Torpey 2020 RHP Pioneer Northern Colorado commit. Live arm with stuff that gets swings and misses consistently. Consistently touching high 80's last season and frame can still add some more.
Lucas Mirizzi 2020 OF Leland Claremont Mudd-Scripps commit. Plus speed and ability to track the ball down in CF. Quick hands able to drive liners all around the field.
Uday Narottam 2020 LHP Sacred Heart Cathedral Harvard commit. Competitor on the mound with ability to throw multiple pitches for strikes. Keeps improving and could still see another jump.
Trevor Haskins 2021 MIF Valley Christian Stanford commit. Defense/arm strength to stick at SS. Cleaned up his swing removing length without taking away power.
Tommy Splaine 2021 RHP/C Los Gatos Arizona commit. On the hill shows stuff to be a future Weekend regular with high 80's FB and deadly CHG. At the dish shows the power and hit tool aren't going away either.
Jabin Trosky 2021 MIF Carmel Oregon State commit. Best defensive SS in the area. Switch hitter shows bat-to-ball skills and ability to read pitches. Grinder mentality.
Aaron Parker 2021 3B/C Los Altos UCSB commit. Exploded as a Sophomore with some of the best bat-to-ball skills in area and ability to tap into power regularly in game. Athlete who fits behind the dish or in INF with arm an asset.
Jake Geis 2021 RHP Archbishop Mitty Oregon commit. Been on the verge of breaking out since his Freshman season and arm strength has kept improving. Frame to be a workhorse
Jon Cymrot 2021 1B/RHP Valley Christian Kansas commit. Two-way skills with ability to hit in middle of a lineup or be the #1 on the hill. CB has late bite and depth.
Thomas Gould 2021 3B/OF Serra Santa Clara commit. Frame continues to strengthen and shows footwork/arm strength to be an abv avg or better defender at hot corner
Patrick Keighran 2021 3B/OF Serra USF commit. Swings with controlled anger regularly looking to hurt the baseball. Arm strength/athleticism to fit 3B or OF corner
Johnny Tarantino 2021 LHP/OF St. Francis Santa Clara commit. Two-way skills with arm strength that works in OF or on the hill. Chance to develop multiple pitches if he stays on the mound and can work gaps at the dish.
Logan Johnstone 2021 OF Los Gatos Gonzaga commit. Advanced approach and bat-to-ball skills for more as he physically matures. Range in any OF spot and arm fits the corners.
Aidan Berger 2021 OF/INF Palo Alto UCLA commit. LH swing made for XBH's with quick hands. Has continued to improve his defense behind the plate while also filling in at multiple INF spots.
Zander Darby 2021 MIF Palo Alto UCSB commit. Speed to stick in middle of the diamond and bat skills that need him in the lineup. Swiss-army-knife on defense as a Sophomore last season.
Jackson Pace 2022 RHP San Benito USC commit. Already touching low 90's on the hill and frame to be the best pitcher in the State by 2022 Draft.
Reed Moring 2022 RHP/INF Aptos UCSB commit. Athletic delivery attacks hitters with high 80's FB and two GOOD offspeed pitches. Also shown ability to play multiple INF positions and swing it.
