Shank comes to the Prep Baseball Report with nine years of college coaching experience, including seven at the Division I level, six of which as recruiting coordinator. Shank’s Division I experience includes stints at the University of Hartford, North Carolina Central University and Canisius College.

While at Hartford, Shank recruited left-hander Sean Newcomb, who went on to become the No. 15 overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Angels. In all, Shank reeled in two of the top three draft picks in addition to the most players signing a MLB contract in a two year span in Hartford baseball history.

While at North Carolina Central, Shank helped lead the school to its three winningest seasons in program history. Five of his players he coached/recruited moved on to play professionally, two of which were drafted in the MLB amateur draft. In two years at Canisius college, the Griffins won 77 games and set a then school record in 2008 with 41 wins. 10 Griffs moved on to play professionally during his time frame. In his seven years at the Division I level he recruited and/or coached 25 players who moved on to play professional baseball.

Now Shank will bring his baseball experiences and connections to Maryland’s prep baseball scene. Shank will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Maryland has ever seen and provide coverage to all corners of the state. But he can’t do it alone. Scouting Director - Kyle Campbell

PBR Maryland is proud to announce the addition of Kyle Campbell as the Maryland Scouting Director. Campbell joins PBR Maryland from the junior college ranks, having served as the head coach at CCBC Dundalk for the last three seasons. Campbell won 55 games in his three seasons with the Lions after taking over a program that had won nine games the season prior to his arrival. Before Dundalk, Campbell coached seven years at Franklin High School in Reisterstown, Maryland (three as the head coach). Franklin finished 18-3 and Baltimore County Champions in 2014.

Campbell is immersed in the Maryland baseball landscape, having also coached numerous summer teams and grew up playing for several very successful Maryland amateur baseball organizations. Over his ten years of coaching (all in Maryland), Campbell worked with numerous college student-athletes, minor leaguers, and two major leaguers: Oliver Drake and Tyler Webb.

A native of Maryland, Campbell attended Franklin HS and was a four year starter then played at Northwest Shoals Community College in Alabama where he was part of back to back 40 win seasons. Campbell holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore and a Masters in Physical Education K-12 from McDaniel College. He and his wife Tracy, reside in Stevenson, Maryland with their newborn son, Grayson.
